Copyright law is now at the heart of digital obsolescence.  This event provides the opportunity to examine an issue that is at the heart of several legislative initiatives, including bills C-244 et C-294.  Our panelists will discuss interoperability, competition, the right to repair, and, of course, copyright law.

Description:

The creative industries request fair, appropriate, proportional, and transparent remuneration of authors and creators. That will only be possible if reliable, current, exhaustive, and interoperable rights data are accessible in real-time. The presentation by Philippe Rixhon will cover the Open Rights Data Framework proposed in the recent study “Study on Copyright and New Technologies” published by the European Commission, and the Open Rights Data Exchange developed with the support of the Estonian Government.
